A heart monitor is used to evaluate your heart’s rhythm and diagnose any potential problems.  Depending upon your situation, the doctor will decide what length of monitoring time and which monitor is the most appropriate for you.  The monitor is attached to your chest wall using leads similar to those used for an EKG. The monitor should be worn during all activities of daily living except showering/bathing or swimming.
